By accessing or using Trivio ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our services.
2. Account Registration
- You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials
- You must be at least 13 years old to create an account
- One account per person - multiple accounts are not permitted
- You may not share your account with others
3. Gameplay Rules
Fair Play
- Play honestly without using external assistance or cheating tools
- Do not exploit bugs or glitches to gain unfair advantages
- Do not intentionally lose or manipulate rankings
- Do not use automated scripts or bots to play
Community Standards
- Choose appropriate, non-offensive usernames
- Treat other players with respect
- Do not harass, threaten, or abuse other users
- Do not share inappropriate or offensive content
4. Intellectual Property
All content on Trivio, including questions, graphics, logos, and software, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws.
- You may not copy, modify, or distribute our content without permission
- User-generated content (usernames, profile info) remains your property
- By using the platform, you grant us a license to display your public profile information
5. Account Suspension and Termination
We may suspend or terminate accounts for:
- Violation of these Terms of Service
- Cheating or exploiting the platform
- Abusive behavior toward other users
- Creating multiple accounts
- Any activity that harms the platform or community
Banned users may appeal by contacting support. We reserve the right to make final decisions regarding account status.
6. Developer API and Content License
The answer-free Question API may be used for evaluation and hosted trivia experiences. An active Pro Content API subscription grants a limited, non-exclusive license to use delivered questions, answer options, and correct-answer identifiers in your own commercial product while your subscription remains active.
- You must keep API credentials secure and may not expose them in client-side code
- Documented API and MCP automation is permitted for non-ranked, server-scored quizzes
- Automated play remains prohibited in ranked matches and other player-versus-player competition
- You may not resell, bulk-publish, redistribute, or offer raw Trivio content as a standalone product
- You may not use the API to create or train a competing trivia-question catalog
- We may rate-limit, suspend, or revoke API access to protect the catalog and service
OAuth-connected applications receive only the scopes you approve. MCP quiz tools reveal correct answers after submission and do not grant a license to extract or reconstruct a raw answer-key catalog.
7. Disclaimers
- The Platform is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind
- We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service
- Rankings and statistics are for entertainment purposes
- We are not responsible for user-generated content or interactions between users
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Trivio shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Platform, including loss of data, rankings, or gameplay progress.
9. Changes to Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms. We will notify users of significant changes through the Platform or via email.
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by applicable laws. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Platform shall be resolved through appropriate legal channels.
